Cool Treats

Hi Everyone,

It seems to me that we are having one of the warmest winters ever!  While I love the fact that we are not using much oil to heat the house, the winter lover in me is very disappointed.  Since it was unseasonably warm again today, I broke out the new Cool Treats Stamp Set after seeing a sample on Instagram from @tailoredcraftiness.  This set is so much fun and has so many possiblities.  The Tasty Treats DSP that is one of the products in the suite is so adorable, I just love it and have already had to order more.  Two of my current favorite colors are Watermelon Wonder and Peekabo Peach and they are both used in this DSP.  To coordinate with the stamp set, Stampin' Up is also offering Framelits that make it so easy to put so many combinations together.  I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with too!  Have fun!

A Day at the Beach

Hi Everyone!

While winter is my favorite season, some of my desire for it lessens after Christmas.  So for today's post, I brought back a bit of summer.  I started with Daffodil Delight which is always bright and sunny and for the "sunbeams" I used the Sunburst Framlits in So Saffron DSP.  The "sunbeams" were a little to thick and I wanted the clouds from the Carried Away DSP to show a bit more so I trimmed them down a little.  This was the first time I used the Fablous Foil Designer Acetate Sheets and I feel late to the party.  Somehow I thought they were like vellum, but they are nice and thick with one side printed with a gold pattern and the other with a silver one.  Give them a try, I'm sure you will enjoy them as much as I am.

I used the A Day at the Beach set to Stamp Set for the sun on the Stitched Framelits stamping first in Daffodil Delight and then colored them in with Stampin' Up's incredible new Watercolor Pencils.  The pencils are probably my favorite item from the Occasions Catalog, they are just so much fun to use!

Hope you enjoy!

Cake Crazy

Hi Everyone,

So I wanted to try and make a card without using the Big Shot.  While I love the Big Shot and Thinlits and Framelits, sometimes you just want to do something a little simpler.  Or so I thought....I saw this card from Conni Richter and knew I had to try a version for myself.  However when I started I realized I needed quite a few stamp sets and ultimately I ended up using 7!!  I think that might be a new record for me.

The focus of the card is the Cake Crazy set from the Occasions 2017 Catalog.  I liked the set the first time I saw it but it wasn't until I started seeing samples and then actually used it for myself that I fell in love with it.  The pieces are made to be used together lending itself to great color combos and while it doesn't come with framelits, its really pretty easy to fussy cut.  And if you know me, you know I don't like to fussy cut :)

Hope you enjoy!

High Tide

Hi Everyone,

I'm back today with 2 cards for you.  Both use the same stamp set, High Tide, out of the new Occasions Catalog. While I really love this stamp set as I love the beach and lighthouses, its the sentiments in this set that really stand out to me. I love every single one of them and I love that they can be used with many different types of stamp sets.  I cased a sample right out of the catalog for the first sample and made my own on the second. In the second sample, its hard to see but I used the Seaside Emobssing Folder.  This is one of the folders that I think looks just as good on the back as it does on the front which lets you use it 2 ways.  Hope you enjoy!
